The storm looms,

But the birds,

Do not move. …

Some things far away,

I can clearly see,

But don’t recognize. …

So many things,

For the eyes to see.

But it is that smile, …

To swim with the fish,

Fly with the birds,

Or in silence linger, …

On some days,

Words do not arrive.

So I begin to think, …

The stars in the sky,

I cannot reach.

But I can build them, …

Hidden behind the tree,

Where she cannot be seen.

In a world far away, …

A stained,

Old wooden door.

Yet all I see, …

Climb the ladder,

Get ahead,

Compete, …

Where the road leads,

Cannot be seen.

It is a mystery, …

Parallel realities,

Overlaid and entwined.

Turbulent or colorful, …

One day,

Time will uncover,

All that lays hidden, …

The shutters,

Are now all worn.

With rusted hinges, …

It is not your name,

Telling me who you are.

But the scars, …

Sitting outside to read,

Alone,

In a quiet world. …

Rare sleepless nights,

When time dissolves,

Night fades, …

As days slip by,

Memory fades,

And some tasks I forget …

There are days,

I long to sit alone,

Under a shady tree, …

Amused,

By what they see.

Or perplexed, …

Sometimes what I see,

Is hard to understand.

I search for reasons, …
