To finally stand back,

In peace and breathe.

For it took many seasons, …

From the path,

By the river bank,

It was hard to see, …

And even though,

My eyes can see,

There are things my mind, …

And when the clock,

Is finally asleep,

The door opens, …

Only now,

Can I truly feel,

What familiarity meant, …

Goodbye,

Beautiful ocean.

It’s time for us to return, …

It was fate,

That brought us together.

A simple farmer, …

A door I built,

But behind which,

I never lived. …

One day long ago,

I stood on that ledge,

Staring out, …

As a child,

I splashed in and out,

Of waterlogged fields. …

The fruit is all but gone.

Soon all leaves will fall,

As the trees prepare to sleep, …

I’ll walk on you,

Feeling the jaggedness,

And sharp pains. …

A place,

In the middle of nowhere,

Far from the sea, …

Sometimes I travel,

To familiar places,

I used to live. …

Let’s travel,

To that far away land,

Where time drifts, …

The swirling current,

Underneath,

Cannot be seen. …

Leaves change color,

Fall and leave.

No different, …

Water naturally follows,

Where nature leads.

Yet often, …

Worn,

Discarded,

Covered in time. …

I wonder how it feels,

To awaken in a house,

On water built. …
